018: Experimental

The whole idea for this project began when I was brainstorming the Tid project with Markus from Two Left Hands On Two Right Arms. I was thinking that it would be nice to show what interesting electronic and experimental acts there was in Uppsala, since my part of the Tid project was soley people from here.

The idea then rested in the back of my head until spring 2008 when I read that a local organization was giving out grants to local musicians, I wrote an application containing the idea of releasing a compilation CD with Uppsala based musicans who make electronic and experimental music.

In fall of 2008 I received a letter letting me know that I was getting a grant of 10'000 SEK. I was of course very happy, and quite quickly started to send e-mails to acts and artists from Uppsala asking if they were interested in contributing to compilation.

I spent late 2008 and early 2009 planning the project; sending e-mails to pressing plants, making calculations, brainstorming the artwork, writing the intro and recording Dag Thelander's voice for his outro.

On June 13th, 2009 I held a release party for the album at Orange Bar in Uppsala.
